Can l get a Medicare Rebate (known as an EPC) for chiropractic care?

Yes! However, there are some conditions that need to be met first.

1. The person who issues the EPC is your GP. It is up to your practitioner to see if you meet the criteria.
2. A major criteria is that your spine, muscle or joint injury is considered “chronic”. The definition of chronic is if you have had the problem for more than 3 months. For example, having a lower back condition that has been present for greater than 3 months does qualify while waking up one morning with a stiff lower back you haven’t had before does not qualify.
3.  Any spine, muscle or joint injury can qualify. Neck, arm, leg or back pain. Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. All are musculoskeletal and so can qualify as a chronic injury if they have been there long enough.

What does the EPC provide?

Once we have your EPC referral from the GP we will provide you with chiropractic care at no cost to you depending on the number of visits the GP has specified. The EPC program provides for up to 5 rebated consultations. Your GP will specify how many visits Medicare will rebate.

All we need further is your Medicare card

Once we have received the EPC referral document from your GP all we require further is your Medicare card. We will Bulk Bill and process the claim for you on the spot. Job done for you!
