Reasons for visiting a chiro during headache

What are some of the signs that your headache is coming from your neck. A Cervicogenic Headache (CGH)?

A branch of the Trigeminal nerve innervates the upper part of your face and head.

This nerve has a connection in the upper part of your neck with a structure called the Trigeminal Spinal Nucleus. If you have a problem with the upper part of your neck this information feeds into the same part of the spine as the Trigeminal nerve which goes to your face and upper head.

The brain misunderstands which body part has the problem and so can project the pain to the face and so we have a headache which is caused by a problem in the neck.

Pressure on the face will not alter the pain experienced but push on the upper neck and the head pain increases. Classic CGH.
